Hagrid not HBP
According to many many sources as I searched the web Hagrid is not the HBP accourding to JK herself. But at the moment it is still just a very strongly held rumour.

Sentences Revealed
According to the Sun, the two sentences describing the new character in the sixth book are: "He looked rather like an old lion. "There were streaks of grey in his tawny hair and his bushy eyebrows; he had keen yellowish eyes behind a pair of wire-rimmed spectacles and a certain rangy, loping grace even though he walked with a slight limp."

Tibets of information
Thanks to CBBC News JK Rowling has also tantalisingly answered a question about Aunt Petunia. When asked, JK said no, Petunia is not a squib, as she is muggle-born, but...... and left the sentence hanging. She said we will find out a bit more about her in the other books and that there's more to Petunia than meets the eye! She also revealed some more general snippets of information, including:

  • Aberforth Dumbledore is the barman in the Hog's Head
  • Dumbledore's patronus is a phoenix

GOF filming update
Eastbourne Today reports on yesterday's filming: Executives from Warner Bros spent Wednesday afternoon and all of Thursday at three locations around the town. It's believed that Harry and his friends will take part in a Quidditch match over the South Downs — but that won't be confirmed by Warner Bros. WB's location manager Sue Quinn added, "The filming we're doing in Eastbourne plays an important part in the film, for the section we're using the backdrops for." Most of the movie is being shot in the studio this time round and none of the cast were in town during the filming. The Eastbourne footage will be used as back-drops. She said: "We'll be using blue screen technology so the actors will be imposed on the background scenery that we're filming here."

Americans still lucked out
David Heyman, producer of the "Harry Potter" films, has explained in a personal letter why American actors aren't cast in the movies. Replying to correspondence from fan Julie Grenier, Heyman said: "As Hogwarts is a British wizarding school, we cast the students from the UK. For Goblet of Fire, we have cast some Eastern Europeans and French people to play the students from Durmstrang and Beauxbatons."
